Swiss Bank Vandal No Match for Aladdin's eSafe; Stealing pin numbers from Swiss bank users, the dangerous VBS.Resume vandal proves harmless for eSafe users.

Aladdin Knowledge Systems (NASDAQ: ALDN), a global leader in the field of Internet content and software security, today announced that its Internet security solution eSafe guards against the new VBS.Resume vandal without the need to update. Stealing pin numbers from European customers of Swiss-based bank UBS, this vandal can be considered an extremely dangerous threat, proving eSafe's generic protection safeguards users from such malicious attacks.

Similar to the Love Letter virus, this vandal travels through Microsoft Outlook and infects a user once they open an attachment named "resume.txt.vbs." within an email that has a subject of "resume." While the vandal has some characteristics similar to those of the Love Letter virus, it is not a variant.

Aladdin's Content Security Response Team discovered that the unknown author of this vandal used an open, public place on a server belonging to the National Institute of Health, as well as a university server, to distribute it throughout Europe. Attacks in the U.S. are expected to increase later today. Aladdin's CSRT experts found the vandal attempts to:

-- Install a keyboard logger, tracking all the user's keyboard

clicks;

-- Find the UBS bank account PIN number of the user;

-- Send the collected information to the hackers; and

-- Send itself to all the names in the address book.
