Swimwear maker dumping Nautica for Ralph Lauren. (Retail).

The Ralph Lauren deal, which takes effect July 1, is expected to net Apparel Ventures $25 million in annual revenues, said Lynne Koplin, the company's president.

But in order to have the capacity to make the Ralph Lauren line, Apparel Ventures had to cut loose another client, Nautica Enterprises Inc., whose swimwear line was bringing in about $21 million a year for Apparel Ventures.

"It was a tough thing to decide," said Koplin. "But if you look toward the future, Ralph Lauren is marching toward Europe and growing impressively on the national retail level."
