) has awarded one of three grants to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), agency of the U.S. Public Health Service since 1973, with headquarters in Atlanta; it was established in 1946 as the Communicable Disease Center.  to continue its effort to reduce injury and disease in and around the water. The $109,410 grant will be paid out during the next 18 months, and for a third year, will help support the CDC's effort to reduce disease outbreaks due to chlorine-resistant pathogens. The money will allow the CDC See Control Data, century date change and Back Orifice.
