Swell start to 2006 as SL Green leases 557,000 s/f.


SL Green Realty Corp. announced that the sompany completed 77 leases totaling 557, 882 s/f during the first quarter of 2006. Of those, 41 were new leases and 36 renewals.

SL Green also announced that during the first quarter it accomplished the 100 percent lease up 750 Third Avenue, 292 Madison Avenue Madison Avenue, celebrated street of Manhattan, borough of New York City. It runs from Madison Square (23d St.) to the Madison Bridge over the Harlem River (138th St.). In the 1940s and 50s, some of the major U.S. , and 1140 Avenue of the Americas.

750 Third Avenue is a 34-story office tower containing 779,641 rentable square feet where SL Green recently initiated a major capital improvement including new lobby, elevator cabs and common corridor upgrades. The 26-story 292 Madison Avenue contains 186,901 rentable square feet. SL Green recently renovated its lobby, elevators and windows. 1140 Avenue of the Americas contains 181,000 rentable square feet with 26 stories and was previously renovated by SL Green.

Noteworthy transactions completed over the first quarter included: Ross Stores, Inc., the nation's second largest off-price retail company signed a 10-year lease expansion and renewal agreement covering 165,183 s/f at 1372 Broadway. Ross will occupy the space for executive and buying offices. Howard Simson and Charles Borrock of Cushman and Wakefield, Inc, represented the tenant in the new agreement.  Street covering 64,733 s/f bringing its total commitment within the building to 253,316 s/f Scott Gottlieb Scott Gottlieb (August 20, 1970 - April 10, 2005) was the drummer for Emocore/Rock band Bleed the Dream.

In late 2003/early 2004, Gottlieb developed leukemia. In support, his band released the acoustic EP Asleep.

On December 20, 2006, the corporation, also known as CBRE, completed acquisition of Trammell Crow Co. in a transaction valued at $2.  represented the tenant in this transaction.
