Dazzlin' Twizzlers

A new twist on an old favorite.

What You Need

pack of red or black Twizzlers * bag of white chocolate white chocolate

Cocoa butter combined with milk and a sweetener, often flavored with vanilla.

1) Melt chocolate according to according to

 package directions. Pour sprinkles onto a plate or pie pan. 2) Dip Twizzlers in melted chocolate until well-coated. Immediately roll in sprinkles. 3) Lay flat on a tray, and refrigerate re·frig·er·ate

 until hardened.

Hang it from the tree now--snack on it later.

What You Need

2-inch styrofoam ball * 6-inch piece of ribbon * pearl-topped straight pins * wrapped hard candies

1) Loop the ribbon around, and secure it to the ball with a straight pin. This is your ornament's hanger. 2) Attach candies to the ball by pushing pins through the wrapper ends. Repeat this until the ball is covered. 3) Make little ribbon bows, and attach with pins to any bare spots in the ornament.

Sweet 'n' Nutty Popcorn

OK, here's one for all you girls who can actually cook.

What You Need

cookie tins * waxed paper waxed paper

 * Almond Butter-Crunch Popcorn * ribbon

1) Make popcorn according to recipe provided below. 2) Put popcorn in waxed paper-lined tins, and finish off with a bow.

Almond Butter-Crunch Popcorn

10 cups popped popcorn * 1 cup of toasted almonds * 1/2 cup butter

* 1 cup brown sugar * 1/4 cup light corn syrup corn syrup

Sweet syrup produced by breaking down (hydrolyzing) cornstarch (a product of corn). Corn syrup contains dextrins, maltose, and dextrose and is used in baked goods, jelly and jam, and candy.
 * 1/4 tsp. vanilla * 1/2 tsp. salt * 1/2 tsp. baking soda baking soda: see sodium bicarbonate.  

1) Preheat oven to 250 degrees. 2) Mix butter, sugar, syrup, vanilla and salt in a saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves. Boil five minutes or until it reaches 248 degrees on a candy thermometer. 3) Remove from heat, and stir in soda. 4) Pour into a large bowl over popcorn and almonds, and stir to coat. 5) Spread onto a cookie sheet, and bake 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes. Let cool before packing.
