This benefit album for victims of the 2005 hurricane season was helmed by openly gay Houston inspirational singer Christian Andreason, who opens the 18-song set with the slick blue-eyed soul of "Call My Name." With half the participants coming from the LGBT LGBT Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender  community, singer-songwriters and dance music are well-represented, but what keeps The Katrina CD consistently interesting are the less predictable inclusions: a spirited Latin romp "Vivelo" ("Live It") from Eileen Faxas; Terri Hendrix's lively bluegrass bluegrass, any species of the large and widely distributed genus Poa, chiefly range and pasture grasses of economic importance in temperate and cool regions. In general, bluegrasses are perennial with fine-leaved foliage that is bluish green in some species.  ditty dit·ty
