Swedish Defence Material Administration Selects Mxi's Maintenix to Replace Legacy Maintenance Systems.OTTAWA -- Mxi Technologies announced today that the Swedish Defence Material Administration has selected Maintenix to replace their existing maintenance software system. Maintenix will form the core of the "Fenix" system, providing capabilities for asset management, maintenance program management, maintenance planning and scheduling, configuration control, and work execution. In late 2003, the Swedish Defence Material Administration (FMV FMV - Face Mask Ventilator FMV - Fair Market Value FMV - Family of Military Vehicles FMV - Fast-Moving Vehicle FMV - Feyziye Mektepleri Vakfi (Turkey) FMV - For Maximum Value (King Soopers brand) FMV - Foreign Market Value FMV - Försvarets Materielverk (Swedish Defence Materiel Administration; Procurement agency for the Swedish armed forces) FMV - Fredrikstad Mekaniske Verksted (Fredrikstad, Norway) FMV - Fuel Metering Valve FMV - Full Motion Video) released a Request for Quote (RFQ) for a management system for the operation and maintenance of aeronautical assets within the Swedish Armed Forces. Mxi emerged as the leader from a qualified field of vendors for a number of reasons, including Mxi's history of successful implementations in the military aviation maintenance domain, such as the United States Navy, Canadian Air Force and Kuwait Air Force F/A-18 programs, and the Lockheed Martin F-35 Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) program. Furthermore, Maintenix was able to meet the Swedish Defence Material Administration requirement for a solution with functionality for: - Maintenance Planning, Packaging, and Execution - Materials Management - Configuration Tracking - Deployed Operations - After-market Support for Foreign Military Sales Mxi will deliver Maintenix under sub-contract to Swedish systems integrator WM-data. One of the challenges that the Swedish Defence Material Administration faces is that their aircraft are heavily customized. There are many different configurations, and the materiel and maintenance requirements can be quite different between aircraft that are nominally the same model. Maintenix's proven configuration management capabilities can handle the complexities that arise from this situation. The FMV intends to use Maintenix to manage maintenance for the entire Swedish Air Force, and in support of foreign military sales of Gripen aircraft. Maintenix will provide the FMV with critical visibility into the value and effectiveness of its after-market maintenance support programs. Currently, the FMV has contracts with the Czech Air Force and the Hungarian Air Force, and other contracts are under negotiation. In addition, the Swedish Defence Material Administration envisions future projects that will expand the Maintenix solution to its ground and naval forces. "Our goal has been to select a COTS product that fits the stringent, complex functional and business requirements of the Swedish Defence Material Administration's legacy systems, but with a modern IT architecture," said Jan Lundborg, FMV Fenix Project Director. "After comprehensive research and careful evaluation, we have selected Mxi's Maintenix system because it not only meets but exceeds these requirements." "Mxi is delighted to have been selected by the Swedish Defence Material Administration for the use of Maintenix in the Swedish Armed Forces," said Doug Brouse, CEO of Mxi Technologies. "This is a perfect match with Mxi's already successful and proven military implementations. We look forward to working side by side with the Swedish Defence Material Administration, Swedish Armed Forces, and WM-data teams throughout the implementation to ensure close collaboration and complete project success."
