The story of the 12-day hunt for John Wilkes Booth and his co-conspirators is told with meticulous attention to detail without losing the thrill and excitement of the events leading up to the fateful night and those that followed. Even the most avid and well-informed Lincolnites will learn new facts about the circumstances surrounding the assassination and the hunt for the perpetrators. Davis delivers a narration that grabs the listener from the first words. At times sounding conspiratorial, at times dramatic, his performance, like the book itself, is suspenseful. The only flaw in Davis's delivery is the repeated mispronunciation of the word "cavalry" as "calvary."
