Sutron July Sales Triple in 2001 Coinciding with Release of NESDIS Certified High Data Rate Transmitter.

Sutron Corporation, a world leader in real-time environmental remote monitoring and control, is pleased to announce that July 2001 sales exceeded $905,700, triple those of July 2000.

On July 6, 2001, the National Environmental Satellite Data Information Service, NESDIS NESDIS National Environmental Satellite Data and Information Service (USA) , certified Sutron's SatLink HDR (1) (High Data Rate) A wireless data technology from QUALCOMM that provides up to a 2.4 Mbps data rate in a standard 1.25MHz CDMA voice channel. HDR can be used to enhance data capabilities in existing cdmaOne networks or in stand-alone data networks.  DCP DCP - definitional constraint programming  for Random Reporting and Self-Timed Modes for 100, 300, and 1200 BPS. NESDIS is the branch of the federal government that assigns addresses, channels, and transmit times for satellites and transmitters.

During July the first SatLink HDR was delivered to the National Ocean Service, a division of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Noun 1. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration - an agency in the Department of Commerce that maps the oceans and conserves their living resources; predicts changes to the earth's environment; provides weather reports and forecasts floods and hurricanes and  for demonstration purposes, as part of an anticipated multi-year, multi-million dollar opportunity. SatLink is also an important new tool for other government agencies such as the US Geological Survey, Army Corps of Engineers, and the National Weather Service where it will be used to anticipate, forecast, and alleviate the devastating effects of events such as floods, mudslides, fires, etc.
