Sutron Hydrological Services Division Announces Multiple Contract Awards with the South Florida Water Management District During the Fourth Quarter of 2002.

STERLING, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 15, 2003

During the final quarter of 2002, Sutron Corporation received the following contracts from the South Florida Water Management District:

1. Flow Monitoring Assistance Sutron will provide support for the SFWMD SFWMD South Florida Water Management District  to collect flow data at structures throughout the 16 county area under their jurisdiction. The total budget of this multi-vendor three-year contract is $480,000.

2. Monitoring Equipment Installation Sutron will provide on-going assistance to the SFWMD for installation and activation of monitoring sites required by regulatory programs and the CERP CERP Continuing Education Recognition Points
CERP Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan (United States Army Corp of Engineers; South Florida Water Management District, and other Florida state agencies) 
 project. This three-year contract was awarded to five companies and has a total project budget of $6,644,955.

3. Science and Engineering Support Sutron will provide SFWMD with an array of technical support services support services Psychology Non-health care-related ancillary services–eg, transportation, financial aid, support groups, homemaker services, respite services, and other services  including field data collection and engineering. Under the auspices of this contract Sutron staff engineers and technicians will work on site at various SFWMD facilities. This five-year multi-vendor contract has an initial four year budget of $22,809,095.

In December 2001 Steve Tarte, VP, opened the company's first Florida office to establish Sutron's Hydrological Services Division.
