Sutron Corporation's Bookings & Backlog at $9,672,742 YTD 2007.

STERLING, Va. -- Sutron Corporation (NASDAQ:STRN), America's leader in remote hydro-met monitoring, announced today that during April 2007 the company received bookings (orders and contracts) totaling $2,377,835 to provide services, equipment and systems for a variety of water and weather monitoring projects throughout the world.

Sutron received purchase orders and contracts from four (4) customers in China totaling $1,020,742. The equipment ordered includes dataloggers, sensors and ancillary equipment for 345 remote monitoring stations. The majority of these stations, 331, will provide real-time data for the Three Gorges Water Conservancy Complex Cascade Dispatch and Communication Center, part of the Three Gorges Dam Project.

Orders from multiple Federal Government Agencies were significant this month. The U.S. Geological Survey's Hydrologic Instrumentation Facility (HIF) gave Sutron purchase orders valued at $479,929. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers purchase orders from five offices totaled $154,243. These orders included the purchase of 182 GOES Satellite Satlink2 Dataloggers and Transmitters.

Also in April, the Republic of Kenya Meteorological Department contracted with Sutron to design, provide and install Automatic Weather Stations and Hydrological Stations, an order worth $316,290.

Additional bookings were received from 57 other customers including the British Virgin Islands to acquire Sutron Tides and Coastal Monitoring Stations.

With a 2006 backlog of approximately $4,233,000 to be shipped in 2007, plus Sutron's first quarter bookings of $3,061,907 and the bookings in April of $2,377,835, Sutron has accumulated $9,672,742 of revenue and backlog for the fiscal year 2007.
