Mr. Haney was arrested there Tuesday about an hour after the 9:50 a.m. robbery, and witnesses at the bank identified him as matching the same description as the robber, police said. The robber wore a white bandanna to disguise his face.

Police said the robbery remains under investigation. They served search warrants at Mr. Haney's fraternity house and Miss Stevens' apartment. They did not find the stolen cash or handgun used during the robbery.
