Effective immediately, veteran healthcare technology leader, Bob Strom, will assume the role of Chief Technological Officer, responsible for setting the strategic technology direction of SIS product initiatives. As CTO, Strom will oversee all technology development efforts. Strom brings with him over 20 years of experience in software development, architecture, R&D and product management. Prior to joining SIS, Strom held leadership roles with several software companies, including LEGENT Corporation, XDB Systems, Microfocus, MERANT Software and Per-Se Technologies, and has extensive global outsourcing experience working collaboratively with companies in countries such as Belgium, Germany, China, South Korea and Japan. Strom is a member of the Triangle Technology Executives Council and is on the Board of Directors for the RTP Rational User's Group, that provides technical training for Rational Unified Process (RUP). Strom's healthcare software development background includes writing a patient registration system for Blue Cross Blue Shield client hospitals and creating a patient care software system for Florida Hospital's corporate IT department. In addition to these software endeavors, Strom has experience in a variety of healthcare roles in both hospital and doctor's office environments, including surgery training as an Operating Room Technician. Strom earned his degree in Software Engineering from the University of Tennessee.
