Dr. J.T. Lin has also filed a new US patent on Nov. 3, 2000 for the use of fiber-coupled lasers for the new procedure of "presbyopia Presbyopia Definition

correction" which has a potential market of $150 billion in US. The Company currently owns 5 of the 18 pending patents directly related to "Laser Presbyopia Reversal".

The Company believes that this Licensing Right will accelerate the Company's development of future new products of diode-pumped infrared lasers (DPIR DPIR Dynamic Pattern Instance Recognition ) for various medial applications. The DPIR system may replace many of the existing laser systems and offer the advantages of being compact (15 pounds versus 150 pounds) and more reliable (at least 50 times longer lifetime).

After these Licensing Rights, the Company will own 15 patents and an additional 18 pending patents covering a broad range of laser spectra and their medical applications. The Company believes that these intellectual properties secure its leading position in the IR-laser technology for medical applications.

As announced previously, the Company also acquired from Premier Lasers 14 patents which cover the use of infrared Erbium erbium (ûr`bēəm) [from Ytterby, a town in Sweden], metallic chemical element; symbol Er; at. no. 68; at. wt. 167.26; m.p. 1,529°C;; b.p. 2,863°C;; sp. gr. 9.05 at 25°C;; valence +3.  laser for three of the most important areas of ophthalmic applications: glaucoma, cataract and refractive surgery. In addition to Premier's FDA clearances, the Company intends to continue the ongoing clinical trials in cataract treatment and other applications using the Erbium laser.

The Company is aggressively pursuing domestic representatives for these new ophthalmic products and the recently FDA cleared EX-308 laser for psoriasis treatment.

The Company believes that it is the first company to own the technology of "Laser Presbyopia Reversal" with 5 pending patents in U.S.

The Company's new product, model IR-3000, for presbyopia correction is fundamentally different from the thermal IR laser made by Sunrise (Nasdaq:SNRS SNRS Securing Networks with Cisco Routers and Switches
SNRS Southern Nursing Research Society
) and the UV lasers made by VISX (NYSE NYSE
