Surface inspection system.

The SVS Vision System was developed to respond to the needs of the rubber producer. The SVS Vision System finds defects at real time machine speeds. Defects found for rubber sheet goods include seams, voids, wrinkles, cord position and spacing. For sidewalls and treads, the system can measure length, width and thickness. In PVC related goods, gels, holes and contamination can be detected. This is said to give the operator an early look at defects before significant scrap or second quality material are produced. The system identifies the defects, classifies and maps them on the hard drive, disk or network, as desired. The system also has defect image capture for immediate study and correction by the operator, or the information can be archived for later analysis. The results are said to include improved process control, reduced scrap and returns, increased quality and customer confidence, creating a more cost-effective process. (Lasor/Systronics)
