Surface Technology congress issues Call for Papers.The 2nd European Congress for Surface Technology has been scheduled for April 13-14, 2005 at the Convention Centre on the Exhibition Grounds in Hanover, Germany. Held in conjunction with the Surface Technology plus Powder Coating Powder coating is a type of dry coating, which is applied as a free-flowing, dry powder. Papers focusing on the subjects of state-of-the-art developments, technical innovations, current problems, cutting edge solutions, and trends related to organic surface technology are invited for presentation. Submissions are encouraged from end-users, institutes, coating manufacturers, and equipment suppliers. Over 30 papers aimed at the particular needs of industrial and custom coaters with a focus on their relation to the entire spectrum of surface treatment technology will be presented. Along with the paper presentations, the congress will present an international "Best Practice Award," aimed at facilitating an exchange in information regarding new technologies and concepts. New this year, the congress will be held in conjunction with the International Coater's Showcase. Displayed over an area of 200 square-meters, the showcase will feature coated substrates that have been discussed during the congress. Abstracts may be submitted until November 1, 2004.
