Today all documents filed with the Supreme Court of Canada requiring signatures must be filed in paper format. This process is costly and highly inefficient as overnight courier service is used for document delivery and it makes it very hard for the subsequent document access by multiple people.

The new electronic filing system, scheduled to go live within the next few weeks, uses Infomosaic's SecureXML Digital Signature solution allowing the Supreme Court to accept digitally signed court filing documents from attorneys. The process of adding signature to the electronic document being filed is controlled by the Supreme Court's E-Filing application. This application is able to process 99% of all that is needed, including digest calculation, real time certificate validation using OCSP OCSP Online Certificate Status Protocol
