Supporting youth promises long-term benefits for Saskatchewan businesses.


Have you ever thought about why you live and work in Saskatchewan Saskatchewan, province, Canada
Saskatchewan (səskăch`əwən, –wän', săs'–), province (2001 pop. 978,933), 251,700 sq mi (651,903 sq km), W Canada.
? Would you have an answer if a young person on the brink of starting their education, business or career asked you, "Why should I stay in Saskatchewan?" There are so many opportunities in the province that many people, especially youth, don't don't

Along with business owners across the province, we would like to tell Saskatchewan youth, "Your future is here!" We intend to accomplish that through a media campaign that provides positive examples of successful young business people who have chosen to stay in the province. There is no shortage of stories to choose from.

Through our multi-media campaign, the Your Future Is Here program is also promoting existing educational, entrepreneurial en·tre·pre·neur

 young people. In our first year, we raised $300,000 for bursaries and startup funds, and received hundreds of applications from Saskatchewan youth around the province. The Your Future Is Here Web site provides a one-stop approach to exploring the opportunities and funding available to youth. Visitors to the site can learn about scholastic bursaries, youth programs, information on financing options for school and business, and several other useful links. Some of our partners include the Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce, Canada Youth Business Foundation, Women Entrepreneurs of Saskatchewan, Saskatchewan Foundation for Community Development, and many more. The success of the Your Future Is Here program relies on ongoing financial support from Saskatchewan residents and corporations. For as little as $500 you or your business can contribute to the success of one of Saskatchewan's future leaders Future Leaders is a UK schools-led charitable organisation that aims to widen the pool of talented leaders especially for urban challenging secondary schools. It was founded in March 2006 by Nat Wei, a former founder of Teach First. . Donations upwards of $5,000 ensure name recognition and involvement in the award selection process.

How much of your donation goes to scholarships and startup funds? All of it! There are zero administration costs in the Your Future Is Here program, so young people reap 100 per cent of the benefits.

The more energetic, intelligent and innovative people that contribute to Saskatchewan's economy, the better the quality of life for everyone in the province. Let's work together to let young people know about all the opportunities in Saskatchewan, and at the same time provide them with even more opportunities. Let's tell young people they matter to this province--and put our money where our mouth is.
