This new service, to be called MasterDepot.com(TM), will enable suppliers to transform the "raw" product data directly from their business systems for effective use in the rapidly expanding business-to-business electronic commerce space.

--Remotely hosted content management software

--Description cleansing and normalization

--Product classification to the United Nations / Standard Products and Services Codes (UN/SPSC)

--Export services in multiple data formats to various data initiatives (including the Ariba Supplier Network(R))

--Communications management and routing over the Internet

Profile Systems extends this free offer for up to 20 manufacturers looking to make up to 10,000 items from one of their product lines available to Ariba customers. Profile Systems will assist suppliers with the gathering, transformation and transmission of their electronic product information assets to the Ariba Network.

Today, many leaders in multiple industries manage their procurement of non-production goods and services using the Ariba eCommerce solution. Ariba customers include Bristol-Myers Squibb, Chevron, Cisco Systems, Hewlett-Packard Company, Lucent, U S WEST, Visa, and others. Products listed on the Ariba Network platform are available to Ariba customers to search for non-contract purchase items. Orders from the Ariba Network platform are passed to suppliers in their desired format (fax, EDI, email) direct from the Ariba ORMS(TM) application.
