Superscope PSD220 and PSD230 portable CD players offer innovative playback control features designed to enhance the practice of performing artists.

The PSD230 model includes independent tempo and key controls that let the user change tempo -33% to +50%, without a change in the key, or a key change of up to +/- one octave, in half steps, without a change in tempo. The PDS (1) (Processor Direct Slot) A single expansion slot on certain, early Macintosh models that was used to connect high-speed peripherals as well as additional CPUs. Providing a channel directly to the CPU, the PDS coexisted with NuBus slots on some models. 230 also allows-the creation of rehearsal loops from selected start and stop points. A voice reduction system within the unit effectively reduces the lead vocals, enabling musicians to better hear the instrumentals or allowing a vocalist to sing along as the new lead.
