Supercuts names Steve Price as CEO, ending nine-month executive search.

Price fills the vacancies created earlier this month by the removal of David E. Lipson, as CEO, and his subsequent resignation as a director.

The hiring of Price culminates a nine-month search by Supercuts for a permanent CEO, which the company announced last spring. Gregory and the board's search committee have held ongoing discussions with Price since the fall of 1995.

Most recently, Price was president and CEO of Crescent Jewelers Inc., in Oakland, a chain of retail jewelry stores on the west coast. From 1986 to 1994 he held successively higher positions with Citibank N.A., including managing director of the New York New York, state, United States
New York, Middle Atlantic state of the United States. It is bordered by Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and the Atlantic Ocean (E), New Jersey and Pennsylvania (S), Lakes Erie and Ontario and the Canadian province of

In the early 1980s, Price was executive vice president and publisher of Newsweek Inc. From 1960 to 1982, he served as an executive with General Foods Corp., including marketing manager for the Maxwell House division, executive vice president of Burger Chef, a fast food chain of company and franchised restaurants, president of corporate development, and corporate vice president and general manager, beverage division.
