Suntory Confirmed that Arachidonic Acid and DHA Help Improve Brain Functions.


Tokyo, Japan, Nov 11, 2005 - (JCNN JCNN Japan Corporate News Network ) - Suntory, a leading Japanese beverage manufacturer, announced on November 10 that it has discovered that arachidonic acid and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA DHA docosahexaenoic acid.

) help improve brain functions. In collaboration with the Kanazawa University Graduate School of Medical Science, the company has examined how the intake of arachidonic acid and DHA affects brain functions in the normal elderly aged 60 or over who have short memories as well as those who have organic brain disorders for over five years.

The subjects took the two substances, 240mg each, and took the Repeatable Battery for the Assessment of Neuropsychological neu·ro·psy·chol·o·gy
