) - Suntory has discovered unique properties of whiskey in collaboration with the Kyoto Prefectural University of Medicine.

According to the presentation made at the 60th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Nutrition and Food Science, the two partners confirmed, in experiments on mice, that whiskey congeners may prevent the development of diabetes.

In particular, antioxidant antioxidant, substance that prevents or slows the breakdown of another substance by oxygen. Synthetic and natural antioxidants are used to slow the deterioration of gasoline and rubber, and such antioxidants as vitamin C (ascorbic acid), butylated hydroxytoluene  components of the congeners have properties that lower fasting glucose fasting glucose Fasting blood sugar, fasting plasma glucose Endocrinology Glucose obtained from a Pt who has had nothing–except water by mouth for 8+ hrs; FG is used in evaluating Pts for possible DM Ref range 65-115 mg/dL non-diabetic; 110-140 mg/dL,  level and lipid peroxide concentration while improving the insulin-secretory function.

Subsequently, the Company has concluded that an adequate intake adequate intake (AI),
