Sunridge Gold Reports 203 Metres of 1.77% Zinc & 0.41% Copper at Emba Derho, Asmara Project.

VANCOUVER, British Columbia -- Sunridge Gold Corp. (TSX VENTURE:SGC) is pleased to announce that assay results from the first diamond drill hole, ED-012-D, drilled into a 700 metre long by 300 metre wide gravity anomaly confirm a large VMS discovery at Emba Derho, part of the Asmara Project, Eritrea. The entire mineralized interval averaged 1.77% zinc and 0.41% copper over 203.43 metres. The full results from this hole are summarized as follows:

In addition, recently completed drill holes, ED-015-D and ED-018-D were drilled approximately 100 metres to the southeast and 80 metres to the southwest of ED-012-D respectively to test the central part of the gravity anomaly (see attached map). Visual logging of the core from these holes, for which no assays are yet available, has shown that ED-015-D intercepted approximately 220 metres and that ED-018-D intercepted 250 metres of massive sulphide  mineralization that appears to be similar to that seen in ED-012-D. Assay results for these holes will not be available for another 2 to 3 weeks and investors are cautioned that visual logging of the core can be misleading and that there can be no assurance that this core will contain significant metal values. Management of Sunridge believes that assay results from drill hole ED-012-D, as well as the visual logs from ED-015-D and ED-018-D confirm that Emba Derho is a very large potentially bulk-mineable mineralized system. Drilling continues at Emba Derho and further assays will be released as available.

On February 6th, 2006 (SGCNR2006-04) Sunridge announced assay results from the first 10 holes completed at Emba Derho. These holes targeted the main outcrop of surface gossan and the results established the presence of near surface wide zones of base metal and gold mineralization. Drill hole ED-012-D is the first hole to test the large gravity anomaly that lies north-east of the gossan outcrop, followed by ED-015 and ED-018. The gossan surface expression of the Emba Derho VMS mineralization is the largest recognized to date on the Asmara Project, over 700 metres in strike length, and forms three tight fold structures that plunge to the north and north-east.

The massive sulphide mineralization at Emba Derho is composed of a series of stacked and folded lenses ranging in thickness from 10 metres to at least 200 metres that are cut by a series of narrow (mostly between 1 to 5 metres) unmineralized quartz porphyry dikes. Emba Derho is located only 6 kilometres to the west of the high-grade zinc-gold Adi Nefas VMS deposit and the Gupo Gold Deposit. The high-grade copper-gold-zinc Debarwa VMS Deposit is approximately 25 kilometres to the south. With the discovery at Emba Derho there are now four significant zones of mineralization within the Asmara Project; Debarwa, Adi Nefas, Gupo Gold and Emba Derho.

DRILL PROGRAM INCREASED BY 11,000 METRES FOR ASMARA PROJECT:

Based on the success of the nearly completed 24,000 metre 2005-06 drill program, management of Sunridge Gold have increased the 2006 drill program for the Asmara Project by an additional 11,000 metres. Drilling will continue to focus on the high-grade Debarwa and Adi Nefas VMS Project areas and on the new Emba Derho VMS discovery.
