The announcement follows SunTrust's successful December 2004 roll-out of its image and data exchange platform for Check 21, which is based on Alogent's Sierra(R) Xchange(TM), Unified Payments Gateway(TM). This paper-to-electronic payment conversion platform provides full, end-to-end integration of remote capture customer sites with the bank's processing centers. It also provides the bank with Straight Through Check Processing(TM) capabilities for other distributed points of capture, including branches, ATMs, cash vaults, and correspondent banks.

Implementation of Alogent's Sierra Xpedite(R) Remote Deposit(TM) product at corporate capture sites is phase two of SunTrust's strategic roadmap for Check 21 and further strengthens the alliance between the two companies. Initial deployment of the product will be to corporate client and small-business offices.
