WELLESLEY, Mass. -- The U.S. division of Sun Life Financial (NYSE: SLF, TSX: SLF) has been awarded the Life Office Management Association (LOMA) Educational Achievement Award for the third consecutive year. Of over 1,200 companies worldwide that were eligible for this award, Sun Life is one of only 15 to be recognized for its educational efforts. Sun Life was honored in both the global and regional (U.S. & Canada) categories.

The LOMA Educational Achievement Award is presented annually to the top 15 financial services companies and their employees with the highest participation levels in LOMA's learning and development programs, based on total exam enrollments during the prior year. Recipients of the award have established a corporate culture that recognizes employees for their proactive learning initiatives and supports employee involvement in financial services education.

The Life Office Management Association was founded in 1924 and promotes research and educational activities to improve operations in financial services companies around the world. LOMA's programs educate professionals in areas such as life insurance, financial services, annuities, management, reinsurance, compliance and underwriting.

"We are very excited and proud to accept this honor," said Bob Salipante, President of the U.S. division of Sun Life Financial. "Being a recipient for three straight years demonstrates Sun Life's commitment to education and professional development, which are essential to our company's success and growth.
