Summit Medical Group Opens in Berkeley Heights; Your appointment with your doctor is about to change . . . for the better.

BERKELEY HEIGHTS, N.J. -- Today, Summit Medical Group (SMG), New Jersey's premier multi-specialty group practice, celebrated the official opening of its Berkeley Heights campus at 1 Diamond Hill Road. The morning ceremony included remarks by Summit Medical Group Executive Director Andrew Mintz, Assemblyman Eric Munoz, New Jersey Chamber of Commerce Vice President Jim Leonard, and American Medical Group Association President and Chief Executive Officer Donald W. Fisher, Ph.D. The formal presentation was followed by a symbolic ribbon-cutting ceremony and brief tour of the new 250,000 new square-foot campus.

Located at the corner of Diamond Hill Road and Mountain Avenue, this new campus will bring more than 750 healthcare employees and 100 board-certified doctors to Berkeley Heights. It will provide SMG patients with access to more than 30 areas of medical expertise in an expansive campus, making it possible for patients to schedule appointments with more than one physician per visit. In addition, Summit Medical Group's One Medical Record system allows all SMG physicians to securely access a patient's entire medical history. The group is also on the cutting-edge of implementing a new e-prescription process, an electronic system that allows physicians to send prescriptions directly to a patient's pharmacy of choice.

In addition to their full range of medical services, other features of the new SMG campus at Berkeley Heights include an ambulatory surgery center, Urgent Care Center, laboratory, imaging, audiology, nutrition, diabetic counseling, infusion services, physical and occupational therapy, and an upscale cafe for employees, patients, and families. A pharmacy, day spa, medical resource library, and optical shop are also scheduled to open in the near future.
