How can you help new leaders that you hire rapidly craft their leadership platforms?

Topics to be discussed will include: (1) What is the Preliminary Going In Mandate and how do you craft it? (2) What are the most important things you can do before Day 1? (3) Why is it important to honor ghosts? (4) How to select your first major intervention strategy and what should you do if it backfires? Lean principles affect not just manufacturing but also every aspect of your business--sales and marketing, engineering, product development--even accounting. Traditional management accounting systems involving standard cost, overhead absorption, and variance analysis--designed to support large batches, long lead times, and lots of inventory--create significant false-negative reporting distortions that can impede further progress in a lean business. To sustain lean, CEO's and CFO's must be willing to transform their company's accounting practices to a new system that not only is lean but also supports lean.
