(3) (Programmed Data P
) optical filter made of a single sheet of PET (polyethylene terephthalate) film. The film front surface is coated with an anti-reflection layer, and formed on its back is a meshed layer of an electromagnetic shield.

In addition, featured on the mesh surface are near infrared reflection analysis (NIRA NIRA National Institute for Research Advancement (Japan)

The sheet is 140 microns thick, almost half that of the conventional films. The initial market price will be $70 per 42- or 43-inch sheet, and the company wants to lower the price further to $50 in the near future. The company has already begun shipping the new filter in sample quantities to Pioneer and other PDP makers, aiming for commercialization in 2006.
