Suitt Starts Construction on Greenville County, S.C. School.Business Editors GREENVILLE, S.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 16, 2003 Suitt Construction Company has begun work on the $9.1-million Cone/Sans Souci Elementary School elementary school: see school. for the School District of Greenville County. The new school, which combines Cone Primary and Sans Souci Intermediate, is being built on the site now occupied by Sans Souci Intermediate at 302 Perry Road. Construction is scheduled to be finished in mid-June 2004. When completed, the school will serve approximately 500 students, faculty and staff. The scope of work calls for the construction of a two-story, 79,000-square-foot building and for the renovation of the 6,000-square-foot Sans Souci gymnasium. The first floor will house kindergarten, first grade, a media center, cafetorium caf·e·to·ri·um n. pl. caf·e·to·ri·ums or caf·e·to·ri·a A large room, usually in an educational institution, that serves both as a cafeteria and as an auditorium. and kitchen, as well as space dedicated to administration, guidance counseling, special education and the gym. The second, third, fourth and fifth grades will occupy the second floor. The sitework includes a playground, sidewalks and a parking lot that will accommodate 70 vehicles. The cafeteria will have areas for food storage, preparation and serving. This represents the ninth public sector project recently awarded to Suitt or under construction.
