)--The Episcopal Church of the Sudan The Episcopal Church of the Sudan is an autonomous province of the Anglican Communion in Sudan. The province consists of twenty-four dioceses, each headed by a bishop. One of the diocesan bishops is elected to serve as Archbishop of the Sudan, and represent the province to the rest  has elected Andodo Adam Elneel as bishop of Kadugli despite earlier attempts by a dissident group to disrupt the proceedings.

The mountains cover an area roughly 40 miles wide by 90 miles long, and are 1500 to 3000 feet higher in elevation than the surrounding plain.  Diocese. Before the election, supporters of the previous bishop, who was dismissed last year after disregarding a series of disciplinary actions, had issued threats against senior church personnel. At 33, the new bishop becomes the youngest bishop in the Sudanese church.
