protection for networks, stopping malicious Internet attacks before they impact an organization, effectively preserving network availability, reducing the burden on IT resources and preventing security breaches.

As more and more of their customers clamor for IP core networks and services, rural telcos are facing numerous challenges: securing their networks from worms and spyware, the expense of cleaning and maintaining their customers' PCs and bandwidth, and lost marketshare due to network outages and poor performance. The new solution from Subsentio and ISS will preemptively detect and prevent security breaches, allowing rural telcos to concentrate on capturing new revenue, reduce their operating expenses and network outages, and protect their marketshare from cable companies and other Internet Service Providers (ISPs).

"As they transition to the 'new world' of IP services, rural operators will now be able to overcome their customers' concerns about security breaches and bandwidth problems," said Steve Bock, President of Subsentio. "The solution from Subsentio and ISS will provide rural telcos with an efficient, affordable solution that frees them to market advanced IP services in their regions."

"Subsentio has a reputation for delivering world-class network security services Network Security Services (NSS) is a set of libraries designed to support cross-platform development of security-enabled client and server applications. NSS provides a complete open-source implementation of crypto libraries supporting SSL and S/MIME.  and systems integration, and has played a key role in helping rural telcos to protect their infrastructures," said Sergio Gemo, vice president of channels at Internet Security Systems. "Our alliance with Subsentio will provide rural telcos with unparalleled network security support and expertise."

"After twenty years administrating networks, I can say that Subsentio is as good a company as there is to work with. Their integration expertise, network security knowledge and ongoing technical support have shown me that they don't see my business as a 'one time sale,' but rather as a long term partner," said Mark Iten, Network Administrator for OTZ OTZ Kotzebue, AK, USA (Airport Code)  Telephone Cooperative. "The companies that they have aligned with have also been of the same high quality, so I foresee more of the same in their partnership with ISS and plan on continuing our progress with them in the future."

The solution from Subsentio and ISS is also available in a service bureau arrangement, monitored from Subsentio's Denver, CO Network Operations Center See NOC.
