Emerging Company Of The Year

The company selected for this award must demonstrate that it is poised for future growth. This company has adopted creative marketing techniques, carved carve

Nomination Criteria

To be eligible for the BE Small Business Awards, each company must fit the following criteria: be independently owned; at least 5 years old; at least 51% black-owned; generate annual revenues of at least $250,000 but no more than $15 million; show a pattern of increasing revenues for the two years preceding application; and have a minimum of three employees.

The Teenpreneur Award

The Teenpreneur Award is slightly different because it recognizes a young entrepreneur, under the age of 17, or a group committed to advancing the rich tradition of black business achievement. These young entrepreneurs have positioned themselves to become the next generation of promising business leaders.

Nomination Criteria

To be eligible, each teen or group must: operate a business that is at 2 two years old and at least 51% black-owned; demonstrate that the company generates revenues, even if it is not yet profitable; serve as a role model to young entrepreneurs; and have a comprehensive understanding of, and direct involvement in, the daily operations of the company.
