Compare business processes. The outcome of business operations is the harvesting of value from assets in support of the warfighter, the Defense Business Systems Management Committee (DBSMC DBSMC Defense Business Systems Management Committee ) is established. The DBSMC will recommend policies and procedures Policies and Procedures are a set of documents that describe an organization's policies for operation and the procedures necessary to fulfill the policies. They are often initiated because of some external requirement, such as environmental compliance or other governmental required to integrate DoD business transformation and to review and approve the defense business enterprise architecture and cross-Department, end-to-end interoperability of business systems and processes, as outlined in the attached charter. The DBSMC replaces the current Business Management Modernization Program governance structure. The DBSMC is composed of the following members: * Deputy Secretary of Defense (Chair); * Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics (Vice Chair); * Secretaries of the Military Departments and the heads of the Defense Agencies; * Under Secretary of Defense (Comptroller); * Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness The Under Secretary for Personnel and Readiness is a high-ranking position in the United States Department of Defense responsible for advising the Secretary of Defense on recruitment, career development, pay and benefits, and oversight of the state of military readiness. ; * Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff The position of Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff was created by the Goldwater-Nichols Act of 1986. The Vice Chairman is a four-star general or admiral and by law the second highest ranking member of the U.S. Armed Forces (after the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff). ; * Commander, U.S. Transportation Command; * Commander, U.S. Joint Forces Command; * Assistant Secretary of Defense for Networks and Information Integration/DoD Chief Information Officer; and * Director, Program Analysis and Evaluation (Advisory).
