Students are serious about social responsibility.


THERE'S BEEN MUCH SAID ABOUT the Millennial Generation--they've had parents dote on them, praise them, and demand perfection in return. They are the next "great" generation, according to according to

Apparently not enough attention has been paid to this new generation's sense of social responsibility.

CIRP College International pour la Recherche en Productique (French) 
 has been conducting its Freshman Survey. CIRP, which is part of the Higher Educational Research Institute, based at the University of California, Los Angeles UCLA comprises the College of Letters and Science (the primary undergraduate college), seven professional schools, and five professional Health Science schools. Since 2001, UCLA has enrolled over 33,000 total students, and that number is steadily rising. , also reports that 66 percent of this same surveyed student group say it is very important to help others who are having difficulties--the highest percentage in 25 years.
