Student outreach & financial literacy.WHILE CalCPA's student outreach and financial literacy Financial literacy is the ability of individuals to make appropriate decisions in managing their personal finances. Raising levels of financial literacy is now a focus of government programmes in countries including[1] Australia, Japan, the United States and the UK. programs continue to thrive, members now have a unique opportunity to combine the two efforts. [ILLUSTRATION OMITTED] CalCPA's student outreach volunteers have discovered that motivating and inspiring young people to follow their career paths can be a satisfying experience. But reaching out to students doesn't have to end there. CalCPA members can help improve students' financial literacy. CalCPA has a Dollars & Sense program for high school students, which offers an informal way to teach students money management skills. Additionally, as part of its financial literacy initiative, CalCPA is collaborating with Junior Achievement statewide and each volunteer visit to a K-12 classroom provides an opportunity to also talk about CPA (Computer Press Association, Landing, NJ) An earlier membership organization founded in 1983 that promoted excellence in computer journalism.
