STRAIGHT OUT OF Vancouver, BC, STREETS are hitting the road for a two-month North American North American

named after North America.

 tour. With a we're-down-for-whatever attitude, a trusty van, skateboards, and some loose connections along the way, they should make it home alive. What follows is an interview with all of them about early influences, skateboarding, their hometown scene, and most importantly Adv. 1. most importantly - above and beyond all other consideration; "above all, you must be independent"

How long have you guys been together as STREETS?

James: Physically, or in our minds?

Dr Jonny Molson, PhD: This band has always been.

James: We have been together for a year and a half, but we've been mentally preparing for this since birth. Isn't that right?

Dr J: Yeah.

Where are you from?

James: East Vancouver East Vancouver (also "East Van" or the "East Side") is a region within the City of Vancouver, Canada. Geographically, East Vancouver is bordered to the north by Burrard Inlet, to the south by the Fraser River and to the east by the city of Burnaby. , British Columbia,

Dr J: The infamous Lower East Side.

Mapee: How about those beers?

How often do you play shows at home?

James: We usually play about once a month in Vancouver and the surrounding areas.

Have you ever toured Canada?

James: No, this is our first tour. We're going to hit Canada on our way back.

What van are you guys traveling in?

James: GMC--General Motors Canada, 1989 Enduro en·dur·o

Does the van have air conditioning?

Mapee: No. We thought it did because we bought it in the winter, so when we turned the AC on it was wicked cold.

Who drives?

James: Everybody but Jonny, even though he owns the van.

Dr J: I bought the van, but I don't have a license.

Is it insured?

James: Yes.

What are you guys listening to in the van right now?

Dr J: I got a '70s metal mix.

James: Stovebolt, an old Vancouver band.

Top five bands of all time?

Dr J: Thin Lizzy, Descendents--this is so flicking hard. I'm gonna go with Budgie budgerigar, budgie

Daily routine while on tour?

James: Get up, have a beer. Skate, do some sliders sliders

Dr J: After we play for two people and they left--drink that away.
