) today announced that the entire HP(r) OpenView(R) product suite now is available on the Stratus Continuum(r) Enterprise Server family of fault-tolerant computers running on HP-UX HP's version of Unix that runs on its 9000 family. It is based on SVID and incorporates features from BSD Unix along with several HP innovations.

The availability of HP OpenView HP OpenView was a Hewlett Packard product range consisting of an extensive portfolio of network and systems management products. In 2007 the entire HP OpenView portfolio was rebranded under the strengthened HP Software name.  on the Stratus Continuum family brings the industry's most widely accepted suite of enterprise network- and system-management tools to a new and expanding class of user, one for whom the continuous availability of applications, databases and networks is an absolute requirement-- not just a desirable goal. Today's announcement builds upon and extends existing technology agreements between Stratus and HP, which began in 1993 when they partnered to incorporate the PA-RISC (Precision Architecture-RISC) A proprietary RISC-based CPU architecture from HP that was introduced in 1986. It is the foundation of HP's 3000 and 9000 computer families. See IA-64.  architecture into the Stratus Continuum product family of fault-tolerant computers. Earlier this year, Stratus announced that it had licensed HP's HP-UX operating system for use with Stratus' Continuum family of fault-tolerant computers. Stratus has also signed an agreement to resell a range of other key, layered software products, such as HP OpenMail on the Continuum Enterprise Server, for the HP-UX operating system.

The Stratus Continuum Enterprise Server features a redundant hardware architecture, along with sophisticated self-checking and self-diagnosing logic to meet the needs of customers running critical online applications.
