Strategic Technology Systems, Inc. Receives Additional Tornado MIL-STD-1760 Pylon Decoder Unit and Longbow Apache Production Orders.


TRENTON, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 18, 1998--Strategic Technology Systems, Inc. announced today it has received a fully funded contract for the 2nd Batch production of its MIL-STD-1760 Class II compatible Tornado aircraft Pylon Decoder Unit from Daimler-Benz Aerospace AG, on behalf of PANAVIA Aircraft GmbH Panavia Aircraft GmbH is a multinational company established by the three partner nations of the Tornado Multi Role Combat Aircraft (MRCA) project, Germany, Italy and the UK. The company is based and registered in Germany. .

The Pylon Decoder Unit 90 (PDU-90), is responsible, along with other devices on the Tornado, to provide MIL-STD-1760 Class II compatible interfaces for modern aircraft stores. The order authorizes full production of 524 PDU-90s.

The current contract value is $6,600,000 with options to order up to 500 additional units. Strategic Technology designed and produced the complete Stores Management System for the German and Italian versions of the Tornado, as well as the Air-to-Air Missile Unit, Gun Electronic Units and the MW1 Intervalometer Control System.

The Company also provides a software support facility for all Stores Management System tactical software. The Tornado is expected to be in service until 2025.

Strategic Technology also announced it has received from The Boeing Company a Lot 4 contract for 66 additional Maintenance Data Recorders for the AH-64D AH-64D Apache Attack Helicopter, D version, with Longbow radar improvements  Apache Longbow longbow
