Process contamination is a challenge in all industrial fermentation This article is about industrial fermentation. For other types of fermentation, see fermentation.
Fermentation has many important uses in industry. Though the word fermentation can have stricter definitions, when speaking of it in

In such applications, the fermentation process may be operated in ways that compromise the efficiency and yield of their fermentation processes in order to prevent contamination from overwhelming the production organism.
