StoreAge Announces First and Only SPAID-Optimized Storage Services Application Software; Split-Path Data Protection Software Available for SPAID Hardware Platforms.

IRVINE, Calif. -- StoreAge Networking Technologies, an innovator in enterprise SAN storage management and advanced multi-tiered data protection solutions, is shipping the industry's only split-path, SPAID-optimized storage services application. The company has been a leader in split-path, distributed architectures for the past five years, introducing the first distributed virtualization An umbrella term for enhancing a computer's ability to do work. Following are the ways virtualization is used.

product in 2000. Now, with industry-wide adoption of SPAID hardware platforms Each hardware platform, or CPU family, has a unique machine language. All software presented to the computer for execution must be in the binary coded machine language of that CPU. Following is a list of the major hardware platforms in existence today. See platform. , StoreAge is offering the first and only SPAID-optimized storage services software application to take advantage of the emerging SPAID hardware products.

SPAID architectures are used to create intelligent, network-based SAN storage management and data protection solutions. The Split-Path architecture separates the I/O (Input/Output) The transfer of data between the CPU and a peripheral device. Every transfer is an output from one device and an input to another.  path from the management path to provide higher performance and greater scalability of the solution. It is analogous to the use of multiple CPUs in servers to create multiple processing paths. However, much like multi-processor servers require multi-threaded applications, SPAID hardware requires SPAID-optimized applications, such as StoreAge's SVM SVM Support Vector Machines

"StoreAge has been a technology leader in architecting SAN-based, high performance, scalable storage management and data protection storage services that separate the data-path and the management-path", said Marc Staimer, president of Dragon Slayer Dragon Slayer is an action role-playing game developed by the Nihon Falcom Corporation. It was originally released in 1984 for the NEC PC-88; it was followed by an MSX port published by Squaresoft in 1986 and a Game Boy port by Epoch in 1990.  Consulting. "As the industry deploys SPAID infrastructures, StoreAge is an ideal candidate to provide key software components."

Last year, StoreAge introduced its StoreAge-Enabled program to help technology partners port the StoreAge software to their hardware and software environments. To date, there are over two dozen industry leaders in the program and each are in various stages of porting and development. Several products are released and available for shipment today. Users of the StoreAge SPAID solutions gain full access to StoreAge's award-winning family of data protection storage services - multiView (data snapshot), multiCopy (full-sized replication and data migration), multiMirror (local and remote mirroring), and volume management. The proven solutions are installed in over 25 countries worldwide.

"Customers are especially excited by the flexibility and scalability this architecture gives them," said Mark Spowart, president of StoreAge Networking Technologies. "They can implement tiered storage solutions independent of servers, operating systems and storage devices. The performance of a split-path architecture allows them to expand at will while retaining centralized, enterprise-wide management."
