StorageNetworks Appoints Richie Lary of Compaq to Executive Advisory Council; Technical Director of Compaq Storage Products Division to Assist with Company Strategy.

The SSP can be part of the voice switch or in a separate computer connected to it. ) for the e-Economy, today announced that Richie Lary, technical director of the Storage Products Division at Compaq Computer Corp., has joined the StorageNetworks(SM) Executive Advisory Council.

The council, first announced in early 2000, now includes a cross-section of nine of the storage industry's foremost industry executives, visionaries and consultants, all of whom have joined together to assist StorageNetworks in identifying and responding to key industry trends.

Richard Lary is a Compaq Fellow and has been an engineer with Digital Equipment Corp. and Compaq since 1969. Mr. Lary was an architect of Digital's VAX (Virtual Address eXtension) A venerable family of 32-bit computers from HP (via Digital and Compaq) introduced in 1977 with the VAX-11/780. VAX models ranged from desktop units to mainframes all running the same VMS operating system, and VAXes could emulate PDP models  computer family in the 1970s. He joined Digital's storage business in 1978, where he was a key architect and designer of the Digital Storage Architecture and its associated products In the context of fuels and lubricants, a petroleum or chemical product used as a hydraulic fluid, corrosion preventive, liquid propellant, or specialized product, required for the operation, maintenance, or storage of military equipment. . He became Digital's storage architect in 1990, technical director of Digital's Storage Business Unit in 1997, and technical director of Compaq's Storage Products Division in 1998.
