Stoddart a shock choice.

The Scarlets have sprung a surprise by naming rookie Morgan Stoddart Morgan Stoddart (born 23 September 1984 in Pontypridd, Wales) is a Welsh rugby union footballer. His usual position is at fullback. He currently plays for the Llanelli Scarlets regional side in the Magners League, having signed from Pontypridd RFC in the summer of 2006.  in their side for the crunch Heineken Cup clash at Ulster on Saturday.

The former Pontypridd full-back, who left Sardis Road in the summer, has won the vote ahead of Ceiron Thomas Ceiron Thomas (born 23 October 1983) is a Welsh rugby union footballer, currently playing for the Llanelli Scarlets regional side. His regular position is at fly-half, though he is often played at fullback.  and Garan Evans following an injury to Barry Davies for the key Pool Five tussle at Ravenhill.

'Morgan is playing well and he is one of those young players who has impressed me right from the start of the season,' said director of rugby Phil Davies.

'I'm confident he will give us a real attacking threat from the back.'
