Stocking-stuffers for cooks of all ages.

If you're looking for small, moderately priced gifts for stocking-stuffers, food and drink gadgets can often fill the bill.

Here we've gathered three groups-one for young cooks, one for home cellar masters, and one for picnickers. Each gift costs $7 or less, with one $16 exception. Tots and pan& Surprising numbers of cooking tools, even professional equipment, come in diminutive sizes. Choices include tart and loaf pans, spatulas, spoons, and whisks, all well suited to the small hands of young cooks, who often delight in the tools' authenticity.

Real corkers. The choice of useful wine gadgets (below left) is quite extensive. For example, tools that help preserve the quality of opened bottles range from a cork shaver to a pump that extracts air and also corks the bottle.

For the outdoors. Campers and picnickers can use the items pictured below right: containers to protect food from crushing, covers to keep bugs away from the food, clips to hold tablecloths in place on breezy days, and more.

To carry the gadget gift idea further, think about how food and beverage might be involved in a friend's bobbies-whether scuba diving, skiing, or needlepoint.
