Whether the interpretations are relatively straightforward (David Byrne's "Don't Fence Me In," Lisa Stansfield's "Down in the Depths") or a total departure (erstwhile hip-hoppers the Jungle Brothers' "I Get a Kick Out of You" keeps the hook and jettisons the rest), there's not a dud in the bunch. If the recent film dud DeLovely ruined the idea of pop stars doing Porter, this collection will convince you it's not a bad idea.
