Steven H. Klein.

Steven H. Klein has been named executive vice-president of SL Green Real Estate's rapidly expanding Asset Management Division, it has been announced by Chairman Stephen L. Green.

Under Klein's leadership, SL Green has received nearly one million square feet of new management assignments in recent months, includig such buildings as 417 Fifth Avenue, 4 Columbus Circle, 432 Park Avenue South, 50 West 17th Street, 32 West 18th Street and 116 West 14th Street.

In his expanded role, Klein will be looking for sources of debt financing, raising equity and establishing relationships with domestic and foreign joint venture partners to purchase commercial properties in New York City. He will be focusing his efforts both here and abroad on pension funds, life insurance companies, foreign and domestic commercial banks and money managers.

Klein will continue to serve as liaison between S L Green and institutions foreclosing on distressed well as between the company and property owners who require a development firm to coordinate leasing and management responsibilities. Encompassed within its asset management capability, SL Green offers in house leasing, property management, construction management, legal, accounting and marketing services.

Prior to joining SL Green last year as vice president, Klein was with Gallin Realty Company, where he was responsible for marketing the 1,100,000 square-foot Continental Center, located at 180 Maiden Lane in downtown Manhattan. He has developed marketing strategies for many other institutional clients, including Shearson Lehman Hutton, SONAT, E.W. Payne and the American Savings Bank.

A graduate of the University of Michigan, Klein is a lecensed real estate broker in New York State and a member of the Yound Men's/Women's Real Estate Association.
