) today announced the appointment of a new president for its Applications Development Division (ADD).

Mark Theel, formerly vice president of development for the division, has been promoted to lead this large faction fac·tion 1

As president, Theel will oversee all activities for the Applications Development Division, including strategic direction of the KEY product family. He will be the driving force in ADD's mission to enable the successful development and deployment of new workgroup- and enterprise-scale applications that leverage technology for strategic business advantage.

Theel has been a major contributor to Sterling Software for over 14 years. In addition to having held management positions within ADD, he has maintained several executive posts at the company. He served as division president and vice president of operations within the Federal Systems Group, as well as vice president of development for the former Applications Management Division.

Appointed to fill Theel's former post, vice president of development for ADD, is Helmuth Klemm. In this capacity, Klemm will serve as the chief developer for the KEY:Enterprise and KEY:Workgroup product lines.

Klemm has 27 years of computer industry experience, including five years experience with the company. Most recently, Helmuth served as the ADD Workgroup lab director for the cross-organizational team that successfully delivered a major increment To add a number to another number.
