Sterigenics International Names John Kane Chairman of the Board.

OAK BROOK, Ill. -- Sterigenics International, Inc., the world's leading provider of sterilization solutions for the medical device, pharmaceutical and food processing industries, today announced Mr. John Kane has been appointed Chairman of its Board of Directors.

Mr. Kane, previously the President, Chief Operating Officer and member of the board of directors at Cardinal Health, Inc. (NYSE:CAH), currently serves on the boards of directors of Benchmark Medical, Inc., Connetics Corporation (Nasdaq:CNCT), and also serves on the advisory board of KBL Healthcare Ventures.

Mr. Kane began his career with Abbott Labs in 1973 where he eventually assumed responsibility for their Puerto Rican Operations. In 1981 Mr. Kane became the President of Abbott's Chemical and Agricultural Products Division and in 1989 President of the Ross Products Division.

In 1993 John joined Cardinal Health a $1.8 billion drug wholesale company. When he retired from Cardinal in 2001, the company was a broad-based, integrated $40+ billion company with earnings growth of 20% per year. During his tenure, John was responsible for a number of acquisitions and was a major contributor to the strategy that took Cardinal from a wholesaler to a diversified pharmaceutical, medical device and services company.
