The American Jewish Committee, also known by its initials, AJC, was "founded in 1906 with the aim of rallying all sections of American Jewry to defend the rights of Jews all over the world.
 presented its prestigious Real Estate Division National Human Relations Award to industry leader, Stephen B. Siegel, of CB Richard Ellis CB Richard Ellis Group, Inc. NYSE: CBG is a multinational real estate corporation currently based in Los Angeles, California, U.S.A.. On December 20, 2006, the corporation, also known as CBRE, completed acquisition of Trammell Crow Co. in a transaction valued at $2.  at a gala dinner event held at The Pierre recently.

, was heralded by the century-old human and civil rights group for his professional achievements and devotion to philanthropy and communal responsibility.

Scott Gottlieb, Gary Jacob, Michael Laginestra and Jonathan Mechanic served as co-chairs of the dinner, which brought together more than 350 guests and raised more than $550,000 in support of AJC.

Among his numerous professional and civic affiliations, Siegel is president of the Board of American Friends of Rabin Medical Center The Rabin Medical Center is a medical center in Petah Tikva, Israel. It is currently the second largest medical center in Israel after Sheba Medical Center, having lost the title of largest in 2006.  and General Chairman of the Association for the Help of Retarded Children. He is a Trustee of the Intrepid Museum Foundation, National Trustee Chair of the National Jewish Center for Immunology and Respiratory Medicine, and sits on the Advisory Board of Baruch College's Steven L. Newman Real Estate Institute and on the Business Leadership Council of the City University of New York The City University of New York (CUNY; acronym: IPA pronunciation: [kjuni]), is the public university system of New York City. . He serves on the Board of Directors of the YMCA, Liberty Property Trust, Greater New York Council of the Boy Scouts of America Noun 1. Boy Scouts of America - a corporation that operates through a national council that charters local councils all over the United States; the purpose is character building and citizenship training  and City Center 55th Street Theater Foundation, and has also served on the Boards of Benjamin Cardozo School of Law and Foundation Fighting Blindness. In addition to his support of the American Jewish Committee, Siegel has received honors and awards from The Crohns & Colitis Foundation, The National Ethnic Coalition of Organizations, Monmouth University, Baruch College, New York University, The Foundation Fighting Blindness, Israel Cancer Research Fund, Albert Einstein College of Medicine
