StepNexus Acquires GlobalPlatform on MULTOS Technology from Sentry.

GlobalPlatform + MULTOS

Sentry has developed the GlobalPlatform 2.2 specifications, which include a definition of a GlobalPlatform runtime environment A configuration of hardware and software. It includes the CPU type, operating system and any runtime engines or system software required by a particular category of applications. The Sentry(PM) GlobalPlatform implementation on MULTOS provides the following enhanced services to application developers:

--Secure Channels - ISO (1) See ISO speed.

This may be done automatically by some languages or it may require explicit code by the programmer. Some languages allow initialisation to be combined with variable definition, e.g.  UPDATE and EXTERNAL AUTHENTICATE processing for developers.

--Common GLOBAL PIN/CHV management. All applications can share a common PIN/CHV and GlobalPlatform on MULTOS providing a simpler experience for cardholders, no need for repeated PIN/CHV presentation when applications are reselected.
